H-Bo Takes on London

Hello all!

You are the lucky few who are fortunate enough to receive some updates about my new European life! The wedding save the dates will be going out soon and I cannot wait to introduce you all to Prince Harry- he cannot wait to meet you! Anyway, I would like to warn you all that when I come back, you might not recognize me because of how fit I am- I have walked an average 20,000 steps a day and have eaten a collective 3 full meals in this entire week. Apparently Londoners are really anti the whole vegetarian lifestyles and the only restaurants near me serve fried chicken and fried chicken only…. But I have been forced to eat some veggies (whenever I am lucky enough to find some at these chicken places) so I guess this will actually benefit me in the long run.

Since writing takes way too much effort and distracts me from all of my Netlix shows, I have decided to send out a weekly photo blog instead of essays. So have fun looking at the “artsy” pictures that I attempted to take! (And sorry in advice if you’ve already seen these pictures via Snapchat/Instagram)

This is my room for the next 5 months! This picture is pre decorations and such so it’s not the prettiest, but it’s honestly way bigger than I was expecting so I am pleased with it.

This is a picture from my first night in London! We were staying in central London for the night so after our little orientation, me and a few others went to this pub called “O’neills.” This is a picture of this beautiful hotel that’s on the way to the pub and obviously the classic red bus made its way into the photo.

This is my new student ID!

Here are some fun pictures from my touristy time at Tower

Bridge! It was really cool seeing it because the sun was

setting and it was just beautiful lighting and sort of magical.

(And of course this day is significant because it was the

moment my soft smile began to flourish)

This is an attempt at an artsy picture (unclear whether it was successful). It was taken at this really cute market called “Borough Markets” and I felt the need to document it because it reminded me of the good old days when the Borison clan used to eat fudge on our yearly trips to Disney World.

This was also taken at Borough Market. There’s not really any significance to it- just thought I should put it on in case you forgot what I look like. (And of course I have to document the evolution of my soft smile)

These are my new friends Thomas and Kate. I met Thomas on the first day of orientation at Queen Mary and Kate and I had been messaging for a few weeks before the program started, so we were fast friends when we arrived here. And before any of you start to annoy me (@Sue and Dan), you should know that Thomas is gay so it is unlikely that we will date and it is not necessary to ask whenever I am pictured with a male :)

This is a magical dessert that I passed while going around Brick Lane Market (a cool artsy market where all of the hipsters go). This area is definitely going to be high on my list of places because it was just a fun and creative environment with MANY different shops and tables. The best part was that there was a music store right there that let me live out my Almost Famous dreams. (If you do not know what Almost Famous is then you should probably just delete yourself off of this list serve because we can no longer speak….) They had different stations around the store where you could listen to albums that the workers chose each month and they had records and CDs all over—it had a great vibe to it.

This is my beautiful new pimp coat!! (Pimp because it looks like a pimp coat, not because I am involved with the stripper world—although

I might be getting there one day as a result of my spending habits throughout the course of this this semester abroad……)

Well I hope you have enjoyed this week of “H-Bo Takes London!” Stay tuned for the following weeks and feel free to send me ideas for what to do next week (and money if you wanna help a girl out)!

CHEERS!!!
