Welcome back to week 2 of H-BO takes on London!!!! In honor of JesBes, this week’s blog post will be titled: GBBS (Great British Borison Show) feat. Mary Berry, the queen of soft smiling (**Only the true London fans will know what this means)
I must warn you all, this week will not be as adventurous and exciting as last week, because unfortunately, I started classes *insert crying face* and spent most of my time on campus. Apparently, Queen Mary University never got the memo about the semester abroad lifestyle, so I am actually expected to attend classes and pay attention… ????? Thankfully, I only have one to two classes a day so I was still able to do a few touristy things this week! Enjoy the photos and remember that I’m always open for adventure suggests (and money donations!)

This lovely picture depicts my “excitement” for my first day of classes (**clearly sarcasm). It also depicts why my wallet is empty… new coat, new jeans and new shoes! But honestly, #noragrets about these purchases in any way.

This is the lovely view near my building!
We have a little river alongside of campus,
so me and a few friends spent some time
walking around. When it is sunny out
(which is EXTREMELY rare here) it’s really
fun to walk alongside.
(Get ready for a long rant…) So apparently Queen Mary wants to make my life harder and add as much stress as possible. Here’s a little backstory (which you all probably know by now since I’ve complained to most of you about this), around October time, I chose 7 classes that I wanted to join at Queen Mary. A few weeks later, they responded saying that I was only accepted into TWO of those seven classes that I had requested. Obviously this gave me tons of anxiety (because honestly what doesn’t) so I emailed about 5 people asking them what to do. They ended up putting me into a third class and said that this happens to many students, so I’ll have to figure out the fourth class once I get to London. LIES. I met only 2 other people who still needed a 4th class. Anyway, the school was pretty unhelpful once I got here and I had a VERY few stressful days, but I am now officially in 4 classes! I’m taking Digital Filmmaking, Globalization of Culture and Performance (which seems like probably the hardest class I have ever seen in my entire life… woohoo :/), Contemporary Hollywood Cinema, and Ecocinema (don’t even ask what the last class is because I honestly have no idea myself). Sorry for the longest shpiel you have ever read, shall we move on??

This picture depicts what might honestly be my biggest life accomplishment yet… I COOKED MY OWN DINNER!!! And might I add that it was actually edible and sort of yummy! It did take a lot of effort and energy to put the salmon in the oven so I think I might stick to pasta and cheese for the next few days in order to recuperate.

These are a few pictures from the best place on this earth: Camden Market. Shout out to Jess—we came here when I visited her during her semester abroad and I don’t think I have ever seen such a cute and amazing place before. It’s so artsy and fun and just all around amazing. Not to be dramatic or anything, but I would live on the streets here if I could. They have EVERYTHING you could possibly need, including food, art and free pickles (#tbt)
Ps. that doughnut cost more than my life ($5.50 to be exact) and it was 100% worth it

Pop Quiz: Who is the girl in this picture?
If you read the blog from the first week, which I’m sure you all did because I should be the only thing in your thoughts for the next 5 months, you would know that this is my friend Kate—congrats if you got the answer right! We were very lucky and got to experience a fire alarm at 2:58 am- WOOHOO. And let me explain, this wasn’t just a regular fire alarm, this was the kind of noise that you would expect to hear if a bomb was falling on you… I’m quite shocked honestly that I still have my hearing after being abruptly woken up by that HORRIBLE noise. Please also keep in mind that I was not wearing any pants and was too flustered by the situation to put any on, so I went out in a coat and no pants in 30-degree weather :)

I am happy to announce that I booked my
first trip outside of the UK!!! I am going
to Barcelona for Kate’s 21st birthday! Feel
free to venmo me money for my trip and
I can take a shot… of water… in your
honor ;)
(Please also pray for 70+ degree weather
because I am in dire need of heat and
sun!)

If you weren’t able to guess from this picture, I went out to dinner with the Weiss family! We went to a cute Italian place near their hotel and I got delicious pizza—finally some good vegetarian food!
This night signifies the turn of me becoming a true Londoner because on my way back, I was lucky enough to get lost in the city with a dead phone! It was amaaaazing (***LOTS of sarcasm). Thankfully (and shockingly), I made it back alive, so thanks to all of my followers who believed in me.
PS. I’m thinking Laina should really make this her profile picture
Well congrats on making it through week 2! Hope you enjoyed the somewhat uneventful week I had and get ready for round 3! Cheers!
